We (my family) purchased an existing flower shop and moved it next to one of our funeral homes. We asked one of the previous owners (who was lucky to take home $200.00/mo. previously) if she would help with the shop and she works full time.
We have had a problem with the ladies that work in the shop refusing to answer the phone when they are busy or in the wrong room and with them not attempting to sell the gifts.
I am looking for ways to motivate them and am considering commissions, profit sharing and/or sales incentives.
I was wondering if any of you offered these things to your employees, how much, and if it worked.
Thanks,
Regina
